PUBLIC & PRIVATE ROADS & HIGHWAYS -

• Stabilig is used for stabilisation of the base for public and private roads and highways.

• Stabilig has been in general use on roads and highways since 1998.  Roads built and repaired in 1998 and in subsequent years continue to perform well.

• Stabilig is suitable for heavy traffic highways carrying thousands of heavy vehicles a day.  It also performs well on light traffic roads.

• The costs of road base stabilisation with Stabilig are often the lowest cost option for new construction, repair and rehabilitation of roads and highways.  These stabilised bases are extremely reliable and last the design life of the pavement and beyond!

• Design depth requirements for stabilisation with Stabilig are often only 50% to 75% of the required design for lime, cement, slag, or flyash, or combinations of these.

• Stabilig resists and prevents reflective cracking.

• Stabilig added to cement stabililsation eliminates reflective cracking.

• Stabilig stabilisation beneath reinforced concrete resists, and virtually eliminates, cracking and block movement in the concrete.

• Stabilisation with Stabilig substantially reduces the risk of the pot holes and pavement failure occurring and re-occurring in asphalt and bitumen/stone spray seal roads.

• Pavements stabilised with Stabilig are impervious, and do not require a primer.  Bitumen and asphalt are compatible with Stabilig and form a very strong interface.  Penetration of hot bitumen into Stabilig may be up to 10mm.

• For asphalt pavements, best bond results are achieved by applying a coat of hot bitumen (before the asphalt) to the pavement base stabilised with Stabilig.
