FEATURES OF STABILIG -

  • Stabilig has been developed to provide a strong bond for soil, gravel, and rock materials
  • Stabilig binds soils, gravels, sands, and rock to give high resilient modulus and flexible pavement strength
  • Stabilig is suitable for use in soil materials with plasticity indices 0 to 40
  • Stabilig forms either a closely bound granular pavement or a fully bound flexible pavement
  • Some Stabilig bound pavements are as good as, or better than, concrete
  • Stabilig “bound flexible pavements” resist the effects of ground freeze and frost heave
  • Pavements stabilised with Stabilig resist high temperatures and high pressure of heavy haul Mine vehicles in excess of 400 tonnes gross weight
  • Stabilig is produced in a wide range of product grades to suit various types of soils and specific uses
  • Pavements stabilised with Stabilig are fully primed for asphalt or bitumen seals, and penetrating light oils like kerosene are not required
  • Stabilisation of an upper or capping layer may be used as a highly reliable alternative primer in otherwise non stabilised pavements.  This gives a much stronger and more reliable seal.
  • Stabilig may be mixed into soil to modify and improve stabilisation using lime, cement, flyash, or blast furnace slag, or combinations thereof.

Features of Stabilig

Stabilig Features

  • Stabilig setting times (times for application and working during construction) - 4 to 12 hours (depending on product grade used)

  • Soils stabilised with Stabilig bond strongly and interface with hot bitumen spray and bituminous emulsion. The bond is much stronger and more reliable than the bond to oil based soil primers.

  • Stabilig stabilised pavements may be used by traffic immediately they are finished, and are dust free and hard wearing for a few days to a few weeks depending on traffic.
