Compaction and Finishing of Pavement Stabilised with Stabilig

Objective is to achieve greater than 100% compaction where possible

Chemical reaction during curing and setting increases compaction

Compaction Machinery

  • Rubber tyred roller (primary roller)
  • Vibrating pad foot roller
  • Vibrating smooth drum roller

Because Stabilig provides a resilient bond it is difficult to over-compact and damage the stabilisation.

Procedures for Finishing

After final surface shaping and rolling, a finish can be achieved by wetting the surface and applying a slurry finish with a rubber tyred roller.
